First round play is underway at The Memorial golf tournament at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, and a trio of golfers — Josh Teater, Steve Stricker, and Chris Riley — share the lead early in the tournament's first day.
Teater, who began his round on the back nine, got off to the hottest start of the three, making an eagle and two birdies in his first six holes to move to 4-under just a third of the way through his round.
Stricker and Riley both took longer to get to 4-under. Riley made six birdies and two bogeys through 13 holes; Stricker needed ten, but rattled off four straight birdies from the sixth to the 10th to get deep into red numbers.
The 2011 Memorial Tournament's first round still has a long way to go, though. About half the tournament field has yet to tee off, including 2010 Memorial champion Justin Rose; you can check the Memorial tee times for the time your favorite golfer will begin his first round.
