Sweden's Fredrik Jacobson captured his first PGA Tour victory and first win since the 2003 European Tour's Volvo Masters, shooting a 66 in the 2011 Travelers Championship's final round. Jacobson weathered charges by Ryan Moore and John Rollins, each of whom shot 7-under on the day and finished one stroke short at 19-under.
A playoff at the TPC River Highlands tourney appeared likely, but Moore bogeyed hole No. 18. The eventual champ was thus free to two-putt his way to the win.
Michael Thompson finished fourth at 18-under, shooting a ridiculous 62 for the day, tying the best score posted in any round of the week.
Jacobson said he's happy to be able to keep a promise he made to his daughter that he would bring home a trophy this season:
I've been asked so many times from the kids, 'Did you get a trophy this week daddy? Did you get a trophy this week?' Nope, no trophy. So, I'm excited about that. I'm glad I'm not breaking that promise for her.
