Yani Tseng Wins LPGA Championship, Youngest Ever To Win Four Grand Slam Tournaments

Rory McIlroy ain't got nothing on Yani Tseng.

Every golf personality from here to Scotland has been signing the praises of Rory McIlroy since he won his first major last week. Well I hope all of those people take some time to golf clap in Tseng's direction. All she did this weekend was cruise to the LPGA Championship with a final-round 6-under 66. That win makes Tseng the youngest golfer to win four LPGA Tour majors.

Like McIlroy last week, Tseng went wire-to-wire for the win. She gave her competitors some hope early on as she clung to one-stroke leads on Thursday and Friday. Saturday proved to be a true moving day for her, as she left the course with a five-stroke advantage.

Despite a rough bogey-5 start on the first hole on Sunday, Tseng quickly put distance between herself and the gang of golfers trying to catch up. She added another bogey at 13, but that was in addition to three straight birdies on holes two through five, two more on the outgoing nine, and three tweets coming home.

Next week, Tseng will try to become the youngest golfer, male or female, to win a career Grand Slam of all four majors when she plays in the U.S. Women’s Open, the only title to elude her during her four-year pro career.

Tiger Woods holds that Grand Slam distinction, having accomplished the feat at age 24.
