Bubba Watson, in case you couldn't gather from the nickname, is a Southern Gentleman. Born and raised in the Florida Panhandle, he even calls himself a "good ol' boy." As a 33-year-old southerner, it probably wouldn't surprise you to learn he is a big fan of The Dukes Of Hazzard. So much so, in fact, that when the car known as General Lee, immortalized when it jumped a car in the opening credits of the iconic show, Watson laid down more than 100 large in an auction to buy it. You can watch him make the winning bid after the jump

And don't even begin to think he's experiencing buyer's remorse.

Doesn't it have a confederate flag painted on it?

get over it
southerners are proud of their heritage and there is nothing wrong with a Confederate flag.

"nothing wrong with a Confederate flag"
That’s a matter of perspective…and yours is not the only one

The war may have been 150 years ago...
…but that doesn’t mean that its not a symbol that causes pain to a large number of our citizenship. Must be nice to be so blissfully insensitive to other peoples’ feelings and experiences.
Question: How many realtives do you have that are dead because they were lynched by the KKK or not treated at a hosptial because of the color skin?
Do you also suggest Jews who have a problem with swaztika grafitti painted on their houses should “get over it”?

Confederate flag symbolizes a lot of things
But the Dukes of Hazzard car doesn’t. Just awesome moments jumping over police cars. Save those debates for the capitol building of South Carolina, which still proudly waves the stars and bars.

actually quite a few states
still use former Confederate flags incorporated into their state flags. South Carolina moved theirs from atop the Capitol building( a while ago) and it now has it’s own spot.
And I agree with you, the car is awesome.
