Padraig Harrington and Bubba Watson lead an exclusive field after nine holes at the 2012 PGA Grand Slam of Golf. The list of participants includes just four players. Harrington and Watson are tied at 3-under midway through the first of two days.
Watson earned his spot in this competition by winning the Master's. Webb Simpson took the U.S. Open title. Harrington has won three majors in his career and replaced Ernie Els, who is out with an injury. Keegan Bradley took the 2011 PGA Championship, and qualified for this year's tournament as Rory McIlroy could not fit the event into his schedule.
Bradley finds himself at the back of the pack, five shots behind Watson and Harrington. Simpson is in third, even on the day and three shots behind.
The golfers will play 36 holes each on Tuesday and Wednesday to determine a champion. The winner takes home $600,000, and the event has an overall purse of $1.35 million.
