Nick Watney had a record-setting final round 61 to earn the first-place purse of $1.3 million at the 2012 CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur.
Watney has earned $3,044,224 on the PGA tour so far this season and $18,732,275 in his career. The CIMB Classic was his first career win in Asia.
Robert Garrigus and Bo Van Pelt finished tied for second, one-shot behind Watney, and each took home purses of $485,000. Brendon de Jonge, Chris Kirk and Tiger Woods finished tied for fourth and each earned $265,000.
Watney had 11 birdies in the first 17 holes in the final round before he played it safe with a bogey on 18 to secure the win. The 31-year-old American birdied three straight holes starting at 11 to tie for first-place after 13 and take the outright lead after 14 holes.
Watney shot rounds of 71, 65, 65 and 61 for a total of 262.
