As the field of 172 aspiring tour pros tees off Friday for the third round of the 2012 PGA Tour Qualifying School Final Qualifying Stage, they will all be chasing Meen Whee Kim. The 20-year-old who shot a 63 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead on the field at -13 tees off Friday at 9:10 a.m. ET on the back nine of the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course. Joining him for Friday's round will be Vaughn Taylor, who sits one shot behind Kim after a Friday 64, and Richard H. Lee, whose Thursday 67 took him to -11, two shots back off the leader in a tie for third.
Other notables include Robert Karlsson, who has won 12 events as a professional and finished fourth at last year's PGA Championship. "The Scientist" is currently at -10, three shots back of the lead but well within the top 25 positioning needed to earn a tour card. Karlsson tees off Friday at 8:50 on the back nine of the Jack Nicklaus Tournament Course. European Tour mainstay Daniel Chopra is also at -10, teeing off one group behind Karlsson. 2006 U.S. Amateur medalist Billy Horschel, at -9 after a second round 65, tees of at 9:50 on the front nine of PGA West.
