AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am 2012: Phil Mickelson Shoots 8-Under For Comeback Win, Tiger Finishes 8 Shots Back

Phil Mickelson matched his largest final day comeback in a PGA Tour win Sunday at the 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Lefty entered the day at 9-under for the tournament, and six shots behind Charlie Wi. He shot an 8-under 63 for the day, the best score for the round by any golfer by three strokes.

Mickelson's big day stood out in sharp contrast to Tiger Woods, who shot 3-over Sunday. After a birdie on 6, he and Mickelson were seemingly headed for a duel atop the leaderboard. Woods would go on to bogey three straight holes to close out the front nine and effectively knock himself out of contention. Mickelson made eagle on 6 and finished out the front nine in first place at 5-under on the day.

Wi made a nice comeback late to take second place overall. He finished the front nine at 3-over, including a double bogey on the first hole of the day, but closed the round out with three straight birdies to edge out Ricky Barnes by one stroke. Barnes' 5-under tied Aaron Baddeley as the second best score on the day.
