After the second round of the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open, Spencer Levin was in position to run away with the tournament. After the third round of the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open, Spencer Levin is still in position to run away with the tournament.
Levin fired a 3-under 68 in the desert on Saturday, moving to 17-under for the tournament and maintaining a six-shot lead over Webb Simpson. Levin made four birdies and his second bogey of the tournament in the third round, but few golfers were able to make up ground on him, with just three of the other 17 golfers who finished within 10 shots of the lead after the third round shooting better than 68 on the day.
Levin is looking for his first career PGA Tour victory. He lost to Johnson Wagner in a playoff at the 2011 Mayakoba Golf Classic.
