The injury that forced Tiger Woods to withdraw from the WGC Cadillac Championship isn't believed to be serious, Woods tweeted Monday evening:
Got good news from doc tonight. Only mild strain of left Achilles. Can resume hitting balls late in week and hopeful for next week.

Woods is slated to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which starts March 22. Assuming he's able to compete, it will serve as his last tuneup before the 2012 Masters, which starts April 5.
Woods has a history of Achilles injuries, withdrawing from the Players Championship last May due to the ailment and missing several months while it healed. He admitted after withdrawing from the WGC that his Achilles felt tight on Sunday morning and grew progressively more painful the rest of the day. Given his past ailments, he opted to play it safe rather than risk further injury by continuing to play.

Tiger Woods' withdrawal from the 2012 WGC-Cadillac Championship in the fourth round on Sunday appeared at first blush related to Woods suffering a leg or foot injury.
But Tiger's injury is to his Achilles tendon, according to a statement he issued after his withdrawal.
I felt tightness in my left Achilles warming up this morning, and it continued to get progressively worse. After hitting my tee shot at 12, I decided it was necessary to withdraw. In the past, I may have tried to continue to play, but this time, I decided to do what I thought was necessary.
Woods' last withdrawal from a PGA Tour event came almost a year ago in the 2011 The Players Championship, but he withdrew from that event after taking almost a month off following leg injuries sustained at the 2011 Masters. He did not play competitive golf again until August following that withdrawal.

Woods didn't appear to be himself on Sunday, wincing through pain throughout the day and even switching golf shoes between the 9th and 10th holes. The last time he pulled out of a tournament was one year ago at the Players Championship.
At the moment, few details on the injury are known. Keegan Bradley and Justin Rose are tied atop the leaderboard at the moment through the front nine at 16-under. Rory McIlroy is right behind at 15-under.
