The first round of the 2012 Shell Houston Open is finally over, after on rain Thursday postponed action until Friday morning. Phil Mickelson picked up where he left off on the third hole to finish the round in a three-way tie for first place at 7-under. He birdied seven of the 15 holes he played, with a bogey on 13 to put him even with Carl Petterson and Angel Cabrera.
Behind the leaders, four golfers sit one-shot back -- Jeff Maggert, Ricky Barnes, Greg Owen and John Huh all shot 6-under to put themselves well within striking distance of the lead. Among other notable names, Johnson Wagner is tied for 17th with the likes of Steve Stricker and Lee Westwood after shooting 4-under.
