RBC Heritage Classic 2012: Colt Knost Holds 2 Stroke Lead Over Field Through 11 Holes

Stay connected with SB Nation

Colt Knost began the day in a three-way tie for the lead with Chad Campbell and Vaughn Taylor at 4-under heading into Friday of the 2012 RBC Heritage Classic. Through 11 holes (he is on tee No. 3 after starting on the back nine) Knost is now in sole possession of first place, shooting 4-under to improve to 8-under overall. He is two strokes ahead of his next closest competitors: Boo Weekley, Bob Estes and Harris English.

Knost has hit four birdies on the day, and parred the rest to solidify his spot atop the leaderboard. Those just behind him are charging hard, however. Weekley is a two-time winner of the event, and has moved up nine spots after shooting 5-under through 17 holes. Estes is at 6-under with four holes still left to play, and has already made up 22 spots on the leaderboard.

Campbell dropped into a tie for fifth place with Carl Pettersson at 5-under overall after finishing the day at 1-under. Taylor dropped much more precipitously, shooting 2-over through 17 holes to drop to a seven-way tie for 14th.
