Valero Texas Open 2012: Ben Curtis Finishes Day 2 In Lead As Play Is Suspended

Ben Curtis finished his round of 18 holes in the lead on Day 2 at the 2012 Valero Open, shooting 5-under to get to 10-under overall. The leader heading into the day, Matt Every, has yet to tee off and is now in second place at 9-under. Unfortunately, it appears he will have to wait to try and regain his spot atop the leaderboard, as play was suspended early Friday afternoon:

Other notable players who have yet to get started on Day 2 include Hunter Haas at 6-under, and Jason Gore at 4-under overall. Fredrik Jacobson was tied with Gore in sixth place before play was suspended on just his second hole of the day.

Among those who have finished up, David Mathis had a particular good day, shooting 5-under to move into third place on the leaderboard at 8-under overall. Cameron Tringale shot 7-under Friday to jump 31 spots on the leaderboard into fourth place after shooting even Thursday.
