VIDEO: Martin Kaymer Aces No. 16 At Augusta By Skipping The Pond

Large crowds gather around No. 16 at Augusta National Golf Club during the practice rounds for the Masters, but they're not there to see simple tee shots and approaches. Instead, in one of The Masters' traditions, golfers hit their practice shots, step up to the front of the tee shots, and skip balls across the water in one of the week's more entertaining events. It's always fun to watch, and every once in a while something special happens.

A few years ago, it was Vijay Singh pulling off the near-impossible, skipping a shot across the pond, up onto the green, down the slope near the hole and into the cup for an ace. It was the first such ace, by way of a skip-shot, that anyone could recall -- a rare and amazing moment during the somewhat dull practice rounds.

And on Monday, Martin Kaymer made it two, pulling off the same feat in a practice round.

There aren't typically television cameras around 16 during the practice round, sadly, but we do have amateur footage. And in this case, that amateur footage is good enough.

One heck of a shot by Kaymer, though I'm sure we won't see him try it again during the tournament.
