The 2012 Masters Par 3 Contest takes place on Wednesday, providing an early glimpse of Augusta National for fans and players alike. The 52-year-old tradition, according to Masters.com, has yet to see its winner wear the green jacket on Sunday afternoon in the same year.
The golfers begin the day at 12:30 p.m. ET, but Masters.com won't start streaming the event online until 3 p.m. ET. ESPN and ESPN 3D will both have two hours of coverage of the event at the same time as Masters.com.
Who will be competing in this event? It will include those participating in the tournament as well as former champions and other special invitees. However, Luke Donald will not defend his 2011 title, preferring to play nine holes of golf on Wednesday.
The contest takes place across 1,060 yards and nine holes.
