As the second round begins to heat up at the 2012 Masters in Augusta, a healthy number of players are beginning to make an early push toward Lee Westwood's leading score of 5-under par. The field is clearly hungry for a chance at the green jacket, and the competition will be fierce throughout the weekend.
Through five holes, Jonathan Byrd is making tremendous strides. He finished even in his first round on Thursday, but in his second round has hit birdies on holes two, three and four to put himself into a tie for fourth place at 3-under, just two strokes off Westwood's lead.
Also at 3-under is Vijay Singh, who birdied on his third hole to join the fourth-place pack that also includes Jason Dufner and Bubba Watson. Dufner double-bogeyed on the par-3 fourth hole, dropping him out of a 5-under tie with Westwood.
