And here comes Fred Couples. The 52-year-old former Masters champion is back in contention at Augusta National, putting together a strong second round to surge within one shot of the lead. Wandering around the course like he doesn't have a care in the world, Couples strung together seven birdies against just two bogeys through 16 holes, including back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16.
Couples currently sits at 5-under for the tournament, one shot behind Lee Westwood and in a tie for second place. Westwood is finishing up his round -- an up-and-down day with quite a few pars and little in the way of movement. Jason Dufner is in the clubhouse at 5-under, a mark Couples is looking to match of beat as he heads for home.
Sergio Garcia is also at 5-under for the tournament with four holes to play on the day. Rory McIlroy is two shots back at 4-under for the tournament through 14 holes on Friday. Tiger Woods just began his round and is 1-under for the day and the tournament after carding a bogey on No. 4.
