I really have no idea what Nick Faldo was going for as he added a quip about Miguel Angel Jimenez's swing. I can't tell if his comment about olive oil was a compliment, a dig or nothing at all. It was confusing, though, and enough to make us rewind the tape to figure out if he actually said what he thought he did.
The whole sequence was odd: Jimenez first pointed out a few spectators and arranged them so their shadows wouldn't disrupt his swing. Then, as he was taking a practice swing, Faldo added the quip about olive oil. Some 15 minutes later, we still aren't sure what to make of it.
Considering how well Angel Jimenez played -- he finds himself in contention and near the top of the leaderboard after two rounds -- perhaps the olive oil thing was a compliment.
