Update: Tiger Woods made the cut with ease and is at 2-under for the tournament.
Toward the end of the second round of play on Friday at the 2012 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, Tiger Woods is getting perilously close to the cut line.
Although his rough first day made it seem as though he was headed toward missing the cut for the second time in as many tournaments, he had appeared to rebound well through his first 13 holes on Friday. He was 4-under for the day and 2-under overall. On hole 14, however, Woods bogeyed and fell to 1-under. The projected cut line is at even par.
On the 15th hole, Woods landed in the rough again and it appeared as though his trend of late-round collapses that has plagued him in 2012 would continue. Woods was able to make a solid shot to hit the fairway, however. Woods went up and down to make birdie and move back to 2-under. Still, Woods cannot afford to make any more mistakes in the second round.
