Entering the back nine, a strong start to the day has Matt Kuchar one clear of the field at 10-under as the third round at Sawgrass plays itself out.
Rickie Fowler followed up on his first PGA Tour win last week with a very strong round, entering the clubhouse at nine-under. Fowler, in his signature Puma hat and matching bright turquoise pants, was at seven-under before missing a four-foot putt on 18 for his first bogey of the day. He's currently tied for second with Kevin Na, who is on 10.
Kuchar's best work came around the turn, sinking back-to-back-to-back birdies on 8, 9, and 10 to put him two clear, but gave some of it back with a bogey on the 11th.
Behind Fowler and Na is Zach Johnson at two back at eight-under overall, followed by Ben Curtis and Brian Davis in a tie for fifth at seven-under.
