Byron Nelson Championship 2012: Phil Mickelson Charging Up Leaderboard On Front 9

Stay connected with SB Nation

The leaders are about to tee off for the the final round of the 2012 Byron Nelson Championship, and Jason Dufner maintains his one-shot lead over three others playing in the final two groups. No one from the morning tee times has made a significant charge up the leaderboard. German Alex Cejka shot the low round of the day, firing a 65 at TPC at Four Seasons just outside Dallas. While Cejka is not close to the first page of the leaderboard, he has demonstrated that the course is gettable in the Sunday final round.

Phil Mickelson is certainly capable of pushing Dufner and the other leaders with a low final round. Lefty is 3-under through his first seven holes and can put himself in contention with a clean back nine. He drained three straight birdies on holes five through seven, and can easily come from off the first page for his 41st win on Tour. He's just three shots back at 5-under. D.A. Points is also out on the course and making some noise, playing the first 11 holes at 4-under. He's also three shots off the lead.
