As the opening round of the 2012 RBC Canadian Open nears its conclusion, PGA Tour journeyman Greg Owen currently leads the pack at 7-under.
Owen, one of the lesser known players on tour, dazzled spectators with a scorecard that included eight birdies and one eagle en route to an opening-round 63. His round would have been even lower had it not been for a double-bogey on hole No. 10, followed by another dropped shot at No. 11. Had Owen scored par on those two holes, he would have recorded a season-low 60 for his round.
Tour veteran Robert Garrigus sits just one shot off the pace at 6-under for the day as he plays the back nine. Garrigus, traditionally one of the longest drivers on tour, is one pace to shoot a bogey-free round of 64 should he maintain his momentum.
