Playing in West Virginia for the first time as a professional, Tiger Woods has birdied two of his first three holes at The Greenbrier Classic to pull within one-shot of the lead in his opening round.
Woods, who won last week's AT&T National, currently leads the PGA Tour with three wins and is hoping to record back-to-back tournament wins for the first time in almost five years. While this is his first trip to The Greenbrier, Woods' first few tournament holes show no indication that his lack of course familiarity will play much of a role this week.
Jeff Maggert is the current first-round leader at 3-under par after 5 holes, a mere shot ahead of Woods and four other players at 2-under. Tiger's playing partners for the day -- Steve Stricker and Webb Simpson -- are currently tied at 1-under and in seventh place.
