Wyndham Championship 2012 Leaderboard: Tim Herron Ties Course Record With Second Round 61

Tim Herron tied a course record at the Wyndham Championship on Friday with a second round score of a 9-under 61, a stark contrast to his disastrous 6-over round on Thursday. The big score was good enough to move Herron 114 spots up the leaderboard, although he still trails leader Jimmy Walker (12-under) by nine strokes.

Herron finished the round with ten birdies, including six birdies in his final nine holes and five straight on the back nine.

Davis Love III is now 3-under through nine holes and is threatening to make a run at the leaders, entering the day 3-under before catching fire on the front nine this afternoon.

Carl Pettersson, who held onto the lead after the first round, is struggling so far today to keep up with Jimmy Walker and Sergio Garcia and is even through 10 holes, 8-under so far on the tournament.
