Northern Ireland's Padraig Harrington is still the leader at the 2012 Barclays at Bethpage with a 7-under 64. Americans Nick Watney and Brian Herman sit just one stroke behind as both carded 6-under 65s. England's Gary Christian is also at 6-under, but he still has one hole to play.
Harrington birdied six of his final eight holes to come in as the clubhouse leader. There are, however, a bunch of big names - Jim Furyk, Rickie Fowler, Justin Rose and Ernie Els - who just started first-round play.
Luckily, Harrington will not to need to worry about Rory McIlroy (-2), Tiger Woods (-3) or Phil Mickelson (-3) making a late run, as all are in the clubhouse. Woods finished his day with four birdies, three coming on the front side -- his last nine holes -- and one bogey.
