Membership has its privileges, and golf enthusiast Justin Timberlake was happy to take advantage of his “Trouble with the Curve” co-star’s affiliation with Augusta National Golf Club. Seems Clint Eastwood treated the music star/actor to a round of golf at the iconic home of The Masters while they were shooting the baseball film. “If you roll with Clint you can get on at Augusta, no problem! “ Timberlake told Starpulse. “That was amazing."
Eastwood, who’s really not the curmudgeon the public believes him to be, according to Timberlake (“He’s actually really charming and he’s a really funny guy,” he told Access Hollywood), was just as pleased to tee it up with the creative director of Callaway Golf and namesake of the PGA Tour’s Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open. “That's what we did in our spare time in Georgia making this movie -- played golf,” Eastwood said. “I'm about a 16 handicap and he's a six. He's very good."
The two Hollywood hot shots had crossed paths before they teamed up on the film, which also stars John Goodman and Amy Adams and opened Friday.
“I had met Clint prior due to our [shared] obsession with golf, so I had played in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and you know, Clint used to be the mayor up there,” Timberlake said about the actor/director's stint as the mayor of Carmel, Calif. "He still is the mayor. He's like the mayor of the world!”
