Tiger Woods and Francesco Molinari halved the final match of the day, but it didn't matter, as Europe clinched the Ryder Cup moments earlier when Martin Kaymer defeated Steve Stricker.

The United States' Tiger Woods and Europe's Francesco Molinari halved the final match on Sunday in 2012 Ryder Cup action. The match was deemed insignificant moments before it ended, as Europe was able to capture the title when Martin Kaymer defeated Steve Stricker.

The two players began the final hole knowing the outcome of the match already, with Molinari having the chance to secure an outright win for the Europeans by winning the hole and halving the match. He did just that, although Woods nearly won the 18th hole with a birdie due to a great chip shot, but it just rimmed out of the hole. He was unable to convert on the par.

Woods got off to a bit of a slow start, as he dropped two of the first three holes to Molinari. However, he recovered to win the fourth and sixth holes, and the match stayed even through the front nine. Molinari won the back nine by claiming the 10th, 14th, and 18th holes.
