2013 WGC-HSBC Champions: Tee times, pairings for Thursday's round

Ross Kinnaird

The PGA Tour continues its first official swing through Asia, teeing things off Wednesday night in the U.S. for the season's first WGC event.

The PGA Tour's inaugural wraparound schedule continues in Asia this week with the 2013 WGC-HSBC Champions event in Shanghai. This tournament has drawn the best players in the world for several years now, but this is the first year it's an officially sanctioned PGA Tour event with full FedExCup points and all the benefits that come with that, including an automatic invite to the Masters with a win.

The three WGC events in the U.S. boast some of the best fields and biggest purses of the season, and this event in China is no different. But Tiger Woods, who was in China earlier this week for a "silly season" one-on-one exhibition against Rory McIlroy, is skipping this week. A spokesman for the event's sponsor bristled at Tiger's absence this week, but even without the No. 1 player in the world, this is still the premier event in Asia.

As is the case with all WGC events, this tournament has a limited field so there's no need for a morning and afternoon wave. The PGA Tour will send groups of three off split tees in the morning in Shanghai, which will be Wednesday night in the United States. Just like last week in Malaysia, Golf Channel will have the latenight broadcast, coming on the air at 11 p.m. ET Wednesday and running coverage until 4 a.m. Thursday. Shanghai is exactly 12 hours ahead of the eastern U.S.

Here's the full tee sheet for the opening round, all times ET.
