Entering Day 2 of the Presidents Cup with a slight lead after a surprisingly close opening round, the Americans are still heavy favorites to win the event.
The US opened the tournament by jumping out to a lead in all six matches, and it looked as if the route was on. But the Internationals regrouped after a lengthy weather delay to cut it to a 1-point deficit, 3.5 to 2.5.
Despite the surprisingly competitive opening day, oddsmakers are still favoring the Americans by a heavy margin. They enter Friday sitting at -450 to lift the trophy, while the Internationals are +375.
Tiger Woods and Matt Kuchar led the way for the US on Thursday, putting and high-fiving their way to a match win over Angel Cabrera and Marc Leishman. They enter Day 2's pairing with Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel as -180 favorites.
Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley had their hands full with Oosthuizen and Schwartzel on Thursday, surrendering an early lead to eventually lose the match. They still open Friday's pairing with Jason Day and Graham DeLaet at -120, though.
