World Golf Rankings 2013: Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods remain on top

Jed Jacobsohn

Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods made early exits at the Accenture Match Play Championship, but their world rankings remain unaffected.

The 2013 Accenture Match Play Championship was not a kind event to some of the top golfers in the world. Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods were both bounced in their opening matches at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Ariz., but it had little affect as to where they sit among the world rankings.

With 556.14 total points, McIlroy has a firm hold on the No. 1 spot in all of golf. Woods is nearly 200 points behind in second place, but he managed to gain 52 points despite losing early to Charles Howell III.

Matt Kuchar is on the rise after taking home the title at the Accenture Match Play Championship, moving from No. 23 to all the way up to No. 8 after his big WGC win. Hunter Mahan's bid to repeat in Arizona fell short in the finals on Sunday, but his work throughout the week moved him up four spots to No. 21 overall.

Here's a look at the current top 10:

1. Rory McIlroy
2. Tiger Woods
3. Luke Donald
4. Brandt Snedeker
5. Louis Oosthuizen
6. Justin Rose
7. Adam Scott
8. Lee Westwood
9. Phil Mickelson
10. Bubba Watson
