U.S. Ryder Cup duo Zach and Dustin Johnson withdraw from this week’s Ballantine’s Championship due to "perceived unrest" in Korea.

Dustin and Zach Johnson won’t play this week’s European Tour event in South Korea, as originally scheduled, due to political unrest in the region.

“Ballantine’s is disappointed to announce that Dustin Johnson and Zach Johnson have informed us they will no longer be attending the Ballantine’s Championship,” according to a statement from the tourney organizers. “They have reached this decision following perceived unrest on the Korean Peninsula and can no longer assure their commitment to this year’s event.”

The United Nations has sanctioned North Korea for testing nuclear weapons. The North has also reportedly moved missile launchers to its east coast, indicating to observers it is preparing for a test launch.

Despite the Johnsons’ WD, the Euro Tour tilt will go on as planned, with world No. 7 Louis Oosthuizen the highest ranked player in the competition.
