Peyton Manning played Augusta National Golf Club this Memorial Day weekend. He also shot 77 because apparently golf is an easy game if your name is "Peyton Manning".
Just in case you have been hiding under a rock on Mars with your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears, Peyton Manning had major neck surgery fairly recently. He then proceeded to lead his Denver Broncos to the NFL Playoffs, you know, in his free time. Shooting 77 at what many believe to be one of the most difficult golf courses in the world is no big thang.
What's even more ridiculous than a current NFL QB shooting 77 at Augusta? A former NFL QB shooting 79, 74 and 72 at Augusta. Oh, that's what Manning's playing partner John Elway did, by the way.
Cooper Manning, Peyton's brother who isn't an NFL quarterback (allegedly), spoke up about his bro's accomplishment (via Kyle Porter at CBSSports.com).
"That's the stuff he loves to do. Sitting there in a training room or a hospital bed, that stuff is for the birds. He's appreciating his health, appreciating the position he's in. He's excited about the off-season moves, and I would say he's as hungry as ever."
That's nice. Shooting 77 at the home of the Masters is "something Peyton likes to do." That's swell.
