Chris Doak, a 35-year-old Glasgow native who has never won on the European Tour, shot his second-straight 66 on Friday at the Scottish Open to take a one-stroke lead at 12-under at Castle Stuart Golf Link in Inverness, Scotland.
Doak finished his round Friday with five birdies, a bogey and an eagle at the par-5 12th hole. A group of four golfers—Peter Uihlein, Matthew Southgate, Ross Fisher and J.B. Hansen—is tied for second at 11-under. Southgate was one of Friday's big movers, shooting a 64. He and Henrik Stenson (who is at 10-under for the tournament) were the only two players Friday to shoot 64.
John Parry, who fired a 64 on Thursday, to hold the 18-hole lead, shot an even-par 72 on Friday and is tied for 13th at 8-under. Phil Mickelson is also tied for 13th at 8-under; he finished Friday's round with a 2-under 70.
