Muirfield may have gotten the better of most players during the first two rounds, but the tight leaderboard should make for an entertaining third round on Saturday. Once again, viewers will be able to watch a large amount of the round live, including extensive coverage of the leaders.
ESPN's live coverage will begin at 7 a.m. ET, well before the contenders begin to tee off after 8 a.m. The network is scheduled to broadcast live for at least seven and a half hours, but coverage could be extended depending on how long the late groups take to finish their rounds.
Jason Day and Hunter Mahan will be one of the first notable groups to tee off when they hit the course at 8:35 a.m. Phil Mickelson and Justin Leonard will follow at 8:45 a.m. The leaders will begin to tee off around 10 a.m. with the pairing of Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood scheduled to begin their round at 10:10 a.m.
In addition to the television broadcast, ESPN will provide additional coverage online via ESPN3. The coverage will begin at 4 a.m. with three hours of @TheOpen Live. Once television coverage begins, ESPN3 will offer five online streams, including a simulcast of the TV broadcast. There will also be a stream dedicated to hole Nos. 1 and 18 and another covering No. 7, No. 8 and No. 9. International and Spanish streams will also be available.
Radio coverage will begin at 9 a.m. on ESPN Radio and continue until the end of the round. Here is a closer look at Saturday's television coverage and other viewing options.
