The leaders are making the turn at Muirfield, and as they do, it's Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood tied atop the Open Championship leaderboard. Both players are even-par on their rounds and 2-under overall.
Westwood had pulled away from the pack after a birdie on No. 7 moved him to 4-under, but he ran into trouble shortly after. He missed short putts on No. 8 and No. 9, carding back-to-back bogeys as he made the turn. Westwood finished the front nine in 36, but his card included three bogyes, four pars, a birdie and an eagle.
Woods has played well on Saturday, but issues on the Par 3s have hurt him. Woods hit all seven fairways on the front side, but missed the green on both Par 3s. He dropped to 1-under after sailing his tee shot over the green on No. 7 and settling for bogey. He got the stroke back two holes later with an excellent birdie at No. 9. Woods also hit driver for the first time in the British Open, striping one down the middle on No. 4.
The rest of the field is struggling to stay in the red as currently only four players are under par. Hunter Mahan shot a 3-under 68, making him the clubhouse leader at 1-under. Depending on how Woods and Westwood fare over the final few holes, Mahan could take the lead, or at least a share of it, into the final round. Angel Cabrera is also 1-under.
Adam Scott at even par and Phil Mickelson at 2-over remain in contention. Here is a complete look at the top of the leaderboard.
