2013 British Open leaderboard: Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood tied at 2-under

Matthew Lewis

The final groups are coming down the the final stretch and Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood are right where the started the round. Both are 2-under and tied for the lead.

Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood are once again tied for the lead at the Open Championship with two holes left in the round. Westwood held the lead for much of the back nine, but dropped a shot on No. 16 to fall back into a tie.

Westwood hit his tee shot on the Par 3 16th into the rough and was barely able to get the ball out when his second shot rolled back down a hill and away from the green. Instead of chipping the ball from a difficult lie, Westwood opted to putt the ball up to the green. It didn't turn out well considering he was still left some 25 feet for bogey, but he drilled the putt to salvage a four.

Woods nearly took the lead outright on No. 16, but his birdie attempt just came up short. After some ups-and-downs on the front nine, Woods has been solid on the back side with seven-straight pars. He's been forced to scramble some, with a few par saves out of the sand, but he's been one of the few players able to stay in red numbers.

Three players are currently under par, with Hunter Mahan in the clubhouse at 1-under. Adam Scott turned in another solid round, shooting a 1-under 70 to post in at even par. Phil Mickelson had some issues down the stretch, but will head into Sunday with a chance at 2-over.
