British Open tee times: Tiger Woods paired with Adam Scott on Sunday

Eileen Blass-USA TODAY

There will be some familiar faces on the tee on Sunday, as Tiger Woods will play with Adam Scott and caddie Steve Williams.

For the second consecutive round, Tiger Woods will play in the second-to-last paring at the British Open. He'll be paired with a familiar face on Sunday, too, as he plays with Adam Scott and his caddie, Steve Williams.

This won't be the first time Woods has been paired with Scott and his former caddie, as Woods and Scott were in a group together for the first two rounds of the U.S. Open. Woods will begin the day in a tie for second place at 1-under, two strokes behind Lee Westwood. He is 14-1 in his career when he opens the final round of a major with at least a share of the lead, but 0-47 when he doesn't. Woods and Scott are scheduled to tee off at 9 a.m. ET.

Scott will begin the final round at even par, three strokes off the lead. He appeared on his way to winning the British Open last year, before faltering down the stretch. A lot has changed in a year -- including Scott's victory at the Masters -- but it will be interesting to see how he handles playing with Woods while in contention on Sunday.

Lee Westwood is the 54-hole leader as he attempts to capture the first major championship of his career. Many consider him to be the best active player without a major victory, a list Hunter Mahan is rising up. Mahan will join Westwood in the final group after shooting a 3-under 68 in the third round. He played in the final pairing on Sunday at the U.S. Open, but struggled. The final duo will hit the first tee at 9:10 a.m.

With a number of notable players near the top of the leaderboard, there are several groups to keep an eye on. Phil Mickelson will play with Francesco Molinari and Sergio Garcia and Brandt Snedeker will be paired as well. Ernie Els came from six strokes off the lead to win the British Open last year. Jason Day and Dustin Johnson are two players capable of similar comebacks and they will be paired on Sunday.

Here is a quick look at a few of Sunday's notable groups (all times Eastern):

Tee Time Player Player
8:00 a.m. Dustin Johnson Jason Day
8:20 a.m. Brandt Snedeker Sergio Garcia
8:30 a.m. Phil Mickelson Francesco Molinari
8:40 a.m. Henrik Stenson Zach Johnson
8:50 a.m. Angel Cabrera Ryan Moore
9:00 a.m. Adam Scott Tiger Woods
9:10 a.m. Hunter Mahan Lee Westwood
