American Patrick Reed followed up an excellent Thursday round with an even better Friday, shooting a 6-under 64 in the second round of the Wyndham Championship to take a one-stroke lead over John Huh.
Reed, 23, has not yet won a PGA Tour tournament but had his first top-10 finish earlier this year at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The only golfer better than Reed at Wyndham on Thursday was Huh. The 23-year-old Korean-American shot an 8-under and is currently enjoying an even bigger breakout season in 2013 than he had last year.
Huh, the 2012 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, finished 11th at the Masters and 17th at the U.S. Open this year. He is seeking his second win on the PGA Tour. Three former champions survived the cut and will move onto Saturday: Sergio Garcia (-5), Webb Simpson (-2), and Arjun Atwal (-1).
