2013 Barclays golf leaderboard: Tiger Woods opens well then falls back

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

Tiger Woods made it through the first five holes of his second round at Liberty National on just 15 strokes before falling off the pace on the seventh hole.

Tiger Woods opened with three birdies in the first five holes at The Barclays on Friday, but stumbled a bit to make the turn at 2-under-par 34 during the second round of weather-delayed action.

Woods recorded scores of 3 on each of the first five holes, birdying the first, third and fifth, before recording 5s on the next three. He bogeyed the seventh hole but finished out with pars.

Woods had been as high as a second-place tie on the leaderboard at 7-under for the tournament before falling back. He's currently tied for ninth at 6-under for the tournament, down two spots from where he began the day.

Webb Simpson is the leader in the clubhouse, at 9-under for the tournament after a 5-under round. Matt Kuchar, who shot 3-under on the front nine, sits tied for second at 8-under. Kuchar had been even through the first five holes of the day before birdying three of his final four.

However, the day's glory belongs to Keegan Bradley. He shot a course-record 63 at Liberty National to climb 74 places on the scoreboard. Only minutes earlier, Rickie Fowler carded 64 to tie the previous record. The pair are tied at 7-under for the tournament, which is good for third.
