The 2013 Deutsche Bank Championship, the second leg of the FedExCup playoffs, begins with on Friday with NBC taking over for CBS as the TV carrier for the rest of the PGA Tour's postseason. Even though this traditional Labor Day tournament starts a day late, with three rounds on the weekend, sister networks NBC and Golf Channel will provide the customary three-hour coverage on Friday and Saturday. Golf Channel will have the broadcast on Friday afternoon, but not until the marquee group of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Adam Scott have completed their round. The top three players in the world, and FedExCup standings, tee off at 8:40 a.m. ET and, barring a weather delay, will be done well before broadcast comes on the air.
Television coverage from Friday begins at 3 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel and runs until 6 p.m. Coverage then continues again on the Golf Channel at 10:30 p.m., running through 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The 3 p.m.-6 p.m. broadcast will also be simulcast online for subscribers on Comcast (Xfinity), Verizon FiOS, Cablevision (Optimum) and Suddenlink.
Additional tournament action will be broadcast on the radio on SIRIUS-XM beginning at noon on Friday through 6 p.m. and that broadcast will be available online through PGA TOUR radio.
