Masters tee times 2014: Bubba Watson set for the final pairing on Saturday

Andrew Redington

Bubba Watson reeled off five straight birdies on Friday and that streak was good enough to put him in the 36-hole lead and earn him a spot in the final pairing on Saturday.

After taking advantage of better course conditions early on Friday, Bubba Watson won't have that same luxury on Saturday. The 36-hole leader will be the last player to tee off, playing in the final group. Watson sits at 7-under through two rounds, three strokes clear of the rest of the field.

Watson followed up a 69 on Thursday with a 4-under 68 on Friday. The round was tied for the best of the day and he became the only player to shoot in the 60s in each of the first two rounds. Watson pulled into a tie for the lead then separated himself from the field thanks to a very strong closing nine. He reeled off five straight birdies, moving as low as 8-under. On Saturday, he'll be joined in the final pairing by John Senden. Senden also shot a 68 on Friday and is alone in second place at 4-under. Watson and Senden are scheduled to tee off at 2:45 p.m. ET.

Thomas Bjorn, Jonas Blixt, Adam Scott and Jordan Spieth head to the weekend at 3-over, tied for third place. Bjorn and Blixt will be paired together in the second-to-last group while Scott and Spieth will be paired. That pairing should draw as much attention as any with the defending Masters champion and arguably the biggest young star on the PGA Tour. Scott rallied from a slow start to shoot an even-par 72 in the second round while the 20-year-old Spieth birdied No. 18 to shoot a 70. Blixt and Bjorn will be on the first tee at 2:35 p.m., with Scott and Spieth going off 10 minutes before.

The attention on Saturday will be on the late groups, but there will be notable players teeing off throughout the day, starting with the first group. Rory McIlroy, the co-betting favorite at the start of the tournament, shot a 5-over 77 on Friday to just make the cut at 4-over. He'll be the first player on the course, playing by himself. Jason Day and Joost Luiten will follow in the second pairing of the third round, scheduled to tee off at 10:25 a.m.
