Rain showers will move over the Royal Liverpool Golf Club Friday morning with strong gusty winds. While most of the rain showers will take place in the morning, there could be a few isolated showers and storms in the afternoon. The story today will be the strong gusty winds out of the southeast. Sustained winds could be between 15 and 20 mph but a few gusts could reach 30 mph.
Friday will be the windiest day, but Saturday could be the wettest. A storm system passing by to the east will spread more rain showers over the region during the day. Some of those showers could be heavy with a few thunderstorms. By Sunday, the rain and the system pass by and we will have dry weather for the final round.
FRIDAY - SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECASTMostly cloudy with rain showers in the morning. There will be a spot or two of sunshine with a chance of isolated showers and storms in the afternoon. SATURDAY - THIRD ROUND WEATHER FORECASTThis is going to be the wettest day of the tournament. Off-and-on showers with occasional thunderstorms are possible. Temperatures will cool, with highs in the upper 60s and winds will be out of the north between 5 to 15 mph.
