Note: Shabbat Is Not On Wednesday, And This Is Not How You Get Ready For The NFL Draft

Remember Maurice Clarrett? Well the agent who told his story in a 2010 Sports Illustrated cover story is writing a book now, and Yahoo! has an excerpt up today. It all centers on Clarrett, and if you enjoy ridiculous stories, it's a nice window into the awesomely chaotic world of Maurice Clarrett leading up to the NFL Draft. This was probably my favorite part:

He’d been living with an Israeli Larry Flynt for months, absorbing the house culture, operating by the house rules. Maurice had seen that every Friday night, when the sun went down, no matter what they were doing, all work ended. Hai, his entourage and his family lit candles and said their evening prayers. So, at that moment, when the discussion wasn’t going his way, Maurice suddenly stood up and said, “This meeting is over. It’s Shabbat.” He walked out of the room.

Jack turned to me and said, “What’s he talking about?” I said, “I have no idea. Today is Wednesday.”
