There are many people out there who are suffering and have nowhere to turn for help or are afraid because of the stigmas placed on mental health. As I began to meditate more on Junior’s death, I began to think about this vicious cycle our world is in. The word ‘‘validate’’ started to run through my mind.

-- From the Chicago Sun-Times this past weekend. Marshall hits on an important point in all this. While the connection between head trauma and depression (and/or dementia) remains a mystery, we know for sure that he NFL doesn't do enough to address mental health concerns of retired players. If the first problem's got no easy answers, ignoring the second is that much more inexcusable.
