After two close regular-season contests versus Buford, Greater Atlanta Christian (28-5) left no doubt in the title game, winning 76-36 Saturday afternoon in Macon behind Virginia recruit Malcolm Brogdon.
Brogdon outscored Buford in the first quarter on his own and finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds to secure a second straight title.
Sophomore A.J. Davis and Trent Boyd contributed to the win with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
For coach Eddie Martin, the win marks his fifth state championship and second with Greater Atlanta Christian.
Alex Flagler was Buford's lone double-digit scorer with 12 points. No other player on Buford's roster managed more than six in the losing effort.
Buford, better known for its eight state titles in football, was attempting to win its first boys basketball championship in school history.
Both teams are Atlanta area schools and play in the same Region 6-AA during the regular season.
