Faith Christian Academy Wins Fourth Consecutive 3A Championship

Faith Christian Academy lost just one game during the regular season and definitely didn’t let up on its way to a fourth consecutive 3A championship tourney berth in school history.

Faith Christian (26-1), behind Nathan Rindels 19 points, also won its fourth straight 3A championship after defeating Jefferson Academy 49-41 at the Moby Gym on the Colorado State University campus on Saturday night.

Rindels, a 6-foot junior, scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half. Most importantly, he made all seven of his free-throw attempts as Faith Christian fought back from an 18-15 deficit at halftime to defeat Jefferson Academy. Teammate Jordan Colson was the only other Faith Christian player in double figures with 10 points.

For Jefferson Academy (19-8), Simeon Ukuni scored 15 points. Jefferson Academy came into the tournament with the 15th seed, but surprised Roaring Fork and Valley to make it to the state championship game.
