Cy Young droughts, N.L. edition

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

The last couple of days we've been looking at the MVP award, specifically how long it's been since a player from each team has won the trophy. Today we're repeating the exercise, but for the Cy Young award. There's a real shocker at the end, but ... you just skipped right to it, didn't you?

Team Last Cy Player Notes
Mets 2012 R.A. Dickey Only knuckler to win Cy, though not the first deserving.
Dodgers 2011 Clayton Kershaw Sandy Who-fax? (Sorry.)
Phillies 2010 Roy Halladay "Can't be trusted in mixed leagues." God, that's depressing.
Giants 2009 Tim Lincecum This is the year we thought we #killedthewin. Sometimes they come back!
Padres 2007 Jake Peavy Was unanimous pick in only year he received any Cy Young votes.
D'backs 2006 Brandon Webb Hasn't pitched in majors since Opening Day 2009. Retired in February.
Cardinals 2005 Chris Carpenter Dontrelle Willis came in 2nd. Finished '13 with Salt Lake Bees.
Braves 1998 Tom Glavine "Released a charity wine called 'Cabernet Glavingnon'."
Nationals 1997 Pedro Martinez I'm counting this one, even if the Nats don't.
Cubs 1992 Greg Maddux Mark Prior led NL pitchers in WAR in 2003. Lost to Gagne (55-0 in saves).
Pirates 1990 Doug Drabek Wins, wins, wins, wins, wins.
Brewers 1982 Pete Vuckovich "I think it's just an incredibly bad (Cy Young) selection." - Bill James
Marlins - - José Fernandez in 2014. Book it.
Rockies - - Can a Rocky win a Cy? It'd have to be a weird year. Maybe a reliever.
Reds - - NO RED HAS EVER WON THE CY YOUNG AWARD. TELL EVERYONE.
