After an extensive search, AJ Foyt Racing has found its driver and it is Takuma Sato, who will pilot the No. 14 Honda for the 2013 IndyCar season.
The Japanese racer has been competing in IndyCar for the last three seasons and is best known for his aggressive nature behind the wheel. Most notably was Sato's bold attempt to overtake leader Dario Franchitti on the final lap of last year's Indianapolis 500 that resulted in Sato losing control of his car and slamming the Turn 1 wall.
Sato's driving style is well suited for the team owned by the four-time Indy 500 champion, who has made it no secret over the years that he likes his drivers to be aggressive on the track.
However, Sato does have a penchant for being hard on equipment, which could spell trouble for a single-car team with limited resources.
Sato is replacing Mike Conway, who wasn't comfortable competing on ovals and stepped out of the car during a September practice session for the 2012 season finale at Auto Club Speedway.
In 49 career IndyCar starts, Sato's best result is a runner-up finish last July on the Edmonton road circuit.
