We're seeking an outstanding Designer. Help drive the design of beautiful ad campaigns, from idea through execution.

As a member of the Vox Media Product Team, you’ll learn the ins and outs of our technology platform, and will develop a clear understanding of the value our sites have to users and advertisers. You’ll join our dedicated ad team to design and execute compelling custom advertising campaigns, and to build new revenue-focused features for SB Nation, The Verge and Vox Games. Through regular work with our Sales team you’ll design, improve, and optimize custom creative and campaign elements for major national brands.

You’re passionate about visual communication and recognize the need for authentic dialogue between authors, users and advertisers. You’re a friendly, creative problem-solver who enjoys designing both user interfaces and custom ad banners. You don’t belong at an ad agency, because you truly live and love design for the web. Responsibilities in this role include:

• Providing direct production support for advertising campaigns
• Concepting and working through ideas in a collaborative atmosphere
• Slicing creative, adjusting CSS, testing ad components
• Providing creative critique and recommendations for client advertising campaigns
• Helping to create new ad technology for our network of sites
• Working to create and upkeep sales decks and collateral
• Contributing to organizational development projects and corporate initiative projects
• Periodic on-call support for after hours ad-related emergencies

As a candidate for this position, you:

• Have experience working at (or with) ad agencies
• Thrive and maintain a sense of humor when faced with design and time constraints
• Have extensive experience working with logos, branding, and typography
• Have strong skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Fireworks CS4
• Are confident and comfortable working with HTML and CSS and browser-compatibility challenges
• Love collaboration, rapid iteration, & receiving / giving constructive feedback
• Keep up with design trends in blogs, advertising, web apps, print and social media

Ideally, you also:

• Have experience with copywriting or editing
• Are comfortable in the fast and fun work environment of a tech/media startup
• Have a strong understanding of the designing for mobile
• Do interesting things when you're not working

Other bonuses:

• Experience working on small teams and collaborating with remote team members
• Passion for photography, video, drawing/painting, or other media
• More involved development or programming experience
