Update: Real Madrid 3-1 Barcelona, full time.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a second goal and Real Madrid now have one foot in the Copa del Rey final.
Lionel Messi tried to do everything by himself in the 47th minute making a lone counter attack run that was finally shut down in the Madrid box by a trio of defenders. Even with three players against, Messi nearly took the ball back but was finally overwhelmed.
Madrid answered back on the counter in the 50th minute when Fábio Coentrão got an excellent chance from close range that was saved nicely by José Manuel Pinto.
Barcelona nearly got a goal in the 52nd minute after a wicked shot from Sergio Busquets and several follow up attempts by various teammates. Busquets initial shot was saved by a diving Diego Lopez and at least two subsequent attempts were blocked by defenders before the ball was finally cleared away. Yet again Madrid's defense was more than up to the task.
In the 57th minute Ángel Di María absolutely turned Carles Puyol in circles inside the Barca box. His shot was blocked but it bounced right to Cristiano Ronaldo who was lurking on the right side of the box. Ronaldo settled the ball and hammered a shot into the back of the net giving Madrid a 2-0 lead.
With 30 minutes to play and Madrid up 3-1 on aggregate, Barcelona now need three goals to survive.
